Key design elements included a clean layout with easy navigation, emphasizing small class sizes, STEAM education, and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL). The goal was to create a homepage that feels approachable, while reinforcing trust and professionalism, ultimately encouraging parents and students to explore further.
The Northgate Academy logo is a combination of modern typography and a clean, professional icon. The logo reinforces the brand’s mission of empowering students to lead with knowledge, compassion, and purpose. The simple design allows the logo to adapt well to various platforms, from the homepage to printed materials.
The homepage’s color palette is designed to evoke trust, warmth, and professionalism. Soft blue tones represent knowledge and trust, while the use of white and grey ensures a clean, modern aesthetic. The colors create a balanced, approachable feel, inviting parents and students to explore the academy’s values.
Initial wireframes were created to define the structure of the homepage. The layout is designed with clear sections that emphasize the school’s offerings, including the curriculum, admissions, and mission. The wireframe prioritized the content that parents would find most important, such as application information and an introduction to the school’s values. Prototypes were tested to ensure ease of navigation, clear hierarchy, and a smooth user experience.
